Who We Are
Silk Studio is a product of Silk Studio Nigeria Limited, a technology, design, and apparel company based in Lagos, Nigeria. When we say "we," "us," or "our," we mean Silk Studio Nigeria Limited. When we say "you" or "your," we mean the person or business using Silk Studio's platform, services, or apparel shop. Contact us at thesilkstudiong@gmail.com or visit silkstudios.com.ng. This policy covers our entire platform, including our design and print services, our custom order tool, and our apparel ("wears") shop.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information. Every category below corresponds to real data we actually process — this policy reflects what our systems do, not a generic template.
- Account Information
- Name, email address, phone number, and password when you register for an order or account.
- Project Information
- Design briefs, layout mockups, brand assets, design references, and project specifications, securely processed and stored through Cloudinary.
- Business Information
- Business name, logo, service preferences, and delivery location details, for clients ordering print, design, or branding services.
- Apparel Order Information
- For wears purchases: item selections, sizes, quantities, delivery address (Lagos-based delivery), and order status, stored securely in our Supabase database.
- Payment Information
- Billing details processed securely by Paystack. We do not store card numbers, bank credentials, or any sensitive payment information on our own servers — Paystack's PCI-compliant systems handle this directly. We store only your order reference, amount paid, and payment status.
- Order Information
- Orders placed, recipient details, delivery addresses, and project or delivery timelines, across both custom print/design orders and apparel purchases.
- Wishlist & Cart Data
- Items you save to your wishlist or add to your cart are stored locally in your browser. This data is not transmitted to our servers unless you complete a purchase.
- Communication Data
- Messages, emails, and inquiries sent through contact forms, WhatsApp, or direct message channels.
- Newsletter & Marketing Data
- If you subscribe to our mailing list, your email address is stored in our Supabase database and managed through our email service provider, Resend, to send you order updates, shipping notifications, and occasional promotional content. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.
- AI-Assisted Features
- Some parts of Silk Studio use AI tools to assist with the user experience. Where your input or uploaded content is processed by a third-party AI provider, we will say so explicitly in that feature. We do not send personally identifiable information to AI systems without disclosure.
- Usage Data
- Pages visited, features used, device type, browser type, IP address, general location (used to determine currency display in our apparel shop), and interaction patterns.
How We Use Your Information
- Account Management
- Create, manage, and maintain your Silk Studio account.
- Order Fulfillment
- Process payments, manage custom print/design order fulfillment, and manage apparel order production, packaging, and delivery.
- Routing & Tracking
- Route custom print/design jobs to our printer network and provide real-time production status reports; track apparel orders from confirmation through delivery.
- Communications
- Send transactional communications (order confirmations, payment receipts, shipping updates, design approvals).
- Localization
- Use your general location to determine appropriate currency display in our apparel shop. All purchases are billed and charged in Nigerian Naira regardless of which currency is displayed.
- Support & Improvements
- Provide customer support, validate payments, identify anomalies, optimize fulfillment, and improve platform and shop features.
- Marketing (With Consent)
- Send newsletter updates about new arrivals, drops, and promotions only if you have explicitly subscribed. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
- Compliance
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations in Nigeria.
Data Security
- Isolated Storage
- Your personal data, project files, and order records are stored in separate, access-controlled environments (Cloudinary for files, Supabase for structured data).
- Encryption
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS encryption. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plain text.
- Payment Security
- Payment transactions are processed through Paystack's PCI-compliant secure channels — card credentials never pass through our servers.
- Server-Side Operations
- Order-writing operations are handled through access-restricted server-side functions, not directly from your browser, to prevent unauthorized data manipulation.
- Access Controls
- Our storage environments are configured with access controls — we do not expose files or database records publicly without authentication. We perform regular checks to confirm this.
- Ongoing Reviews
- We implement regular security reviews and maintain secure coding practices. Despite these safeguards, no system is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you promptly.
Data Deletion & Retention
We only keep your data for as long as we need it, and we honour deletion requests promptly.
- Active Accounts
- Personal data retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
- Transaction Records
- Retained for at least 7 years to comply with Nigerian tax and financial regulations. This is a legal requirement we cannot waive.
- Account Deletion
- When you request account deletion, your personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (such as transaction records).
- Uploaded Files
- Project files may be retained longer for quality assurance and dispute resolution, but are deleted upon written request where no legal hold applies.
- Newsletter Data
- Your email is removed from our mailing list immediately upon unsubscribe. We do not continue sending emails after an unsubscribe request is processed.
- What we promise, we do
- If this policy states we delete something, we delete it. We do not make data deletion promises in our policy and then retain the data in storage. If you believe data you requested deleted is still being held, contact us at thesilkstudiong@gmail.com.
Testimonials
All testimonials displayed on Silk Studio are from real customers who have used our services or purchased from our apparel shop. We do not publish fabricated, AI-generated, or purchased reviews. Where a testimonial comes from a member of our team or a close collaborator, it is clearly labelled as such. We do not filter or suppress negative feedback to create a misleading impression of our reputation.
Your Rights

- Access
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention requirements, such as transaction records).
- Opt-Out
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time — every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. Opting out does not affect transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates) which are necessary for service delivery.
- Data Portability
- Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw Consent
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time. This does not affect the legality of processing that occurred before withdrawal.
AI & Automated Processing
Some features on Silk Studio may use AI-assisted tools to improve the experience. Where your content or input is processed by a third-party AI model, we disclose this within that specific feature. We do not use AI to make automated decisions that have legal or significant effects on you without human review. We do not send sensitive personal data (payment details, government ID, health information) to AI systems. If Silk Studio offers a chat or AI assistant feature, it is an automated system, not a human. We disclose this at the start of every conversation. If you or anyone using our platform discloses distress, self-harm, or crisis, our system is designed to provide signposting to appropriate support resources. If you are in crisis, please contact a local crisis line or emergency services immediately.
Children
Silk Studio, including our apparel shop, is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at thesilkstudiong@gmail.com and we will delete it within 48 hours.
Third-Party Links
Our platform may contain links to third-party websites and services (Cloudinary, Paystack, Supabase, Resend, social media). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, services (including our apparel shop), or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of Silk Studio after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
